This Policy governs how licensed advocates (“Partner Lawyers”) collaborate with SettleKar. By signing up, you agree to the terms below.
- Independent Practice
- SettleKar is not a law firm.
- All Partner Lawyers work as independent advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- There is no employer–employee relationship between SettleKar and Partner Lawyers.
- On-boarding Fee
SettleKar charges a one-time on-boarding fee for verification and activation. This fee is non-refundable.
- Your Own Pricing & Fees
Once a client matter is handed over to you:
- You may charge your own professional fees directly to the client.
- SettleKar does not control, dictate, or interfere with your pricing.
- Any further engagement, representation, drafting, or litigation is between you and the client directly.
- SettleKar only facilitates the initial connection.
- Scope of SettleKar
Our role is limited to:
- verifying your credentials,
- assigning clients who request legal notice drafting,
- securely transferring documents,
- enabling smooth communication.
All legal services are provided solely by you as an independent advocate.
- Responsibilities
Partner Lawyers agree to:
- maintain professional ethics under the Advocates Act & BCI Rules,
- keep all user documents confidential,
- issue legal notices only after user approval,
- provide timely and accurate work.
- Client Relationship
Once a matter is handed over to you:
- You assume full responsibility for legal drafting and communication,
- You form a direct attorney–client relationship,
- SettleKar is not responsible for legal advice, outcomes, or professional conduct.
- Removal / Termination
SettleKar may remove a Partner Lawyer for:
- unprofessional behaviour,
- repeated client complaints,
- breach of confidentiality,
- violation of BCI rules,
- misuse of the platform.
- Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction
