Partner Lawyer Policy

This Policy governs how licensed advocates (“Partner Lawyers”) collaborate with SettleKar. By signing up, you agree to the terms below.

 

  1. Independent Practice

 

  1. SettleKar is not a law firm.
  2. All Partner Lawyers work as independent advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
  3. There is no employer–employee relationship between SettleKar and Partner Lawyers.

 

  1. On-boarding Fee

 

SettleKar charges a one-time on-boarding fee for verification and activation. This fee is non-refundable.

 

  1. Your Own Pricing & Fees

Once a client matter is handed over to you:

  1. You may charge your own professional fees directly to the client.
  2. SettleKar does not control, dictate, or interfere with your pricing.
  3. Any further engagement, representation, drafting, or litigation is between you and the client directly.
  4. SettleKar only facilitates the initial connection.

 

  1. Scope of SettleKar

Our role is limited to:

  1. verifying your credentials,
  2. assigning clients who request legal notice drafting,
  3. securely transferring documents,
  4. enabling smooth communication.

 

All legal services are provided solely by you as an independent advocate.

 

  1. Responsibilities

Partner Lawyers agree to:

  1. maintain professional ethics under the Advocates Act & BCI Rules,
  2. keep all user documents confidential,
  3. issue legal notices only after user approval,
  4. provide timely and accurate work.

 

  1. Client Relationship

Once a matter is handed over to you:

  1. You assume full responsibility for legal drafting and communication,
  2. You form a direct attorney–client relationship,
  3. SettleKar is not responsible for legal advice, outcomes, or professional conduct.

 

  1. Removal / Termination

SettleKar may remove a Partner Lawyer for:

  1. unprofessional behaviour,
  2. repeated client complaints,
  3. breach of confidentiality,
  4. violation of BCI rules,
  5. misuse of the platform.

 

  1. Governing Law

 

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction
